Is there a book you really loved that was subsequently turned into a movie? Did it live up to your expectations? Why or why not?

I read "Jane Eyre" more times than I can count as a girl. The movie was made LONG before I read the book, but I didn't see it til after. I also love the movie, but the book is better.

What would you do if your pet dog or cat suddenly started to talk to you, but nobody else could hear it? Would you assume you'd gone mad or simply be happy for the company? Would you try to convince your friends and family or would you be satisfied keeping it to yourself?

gee ....... why would I be surprised that my cats talked to me? don't all animals talk to their people?????

How often do you watch TV shows or movies on your computer? What determines whether you watch on your TV versus your computer?

the only time I tried watching a tv show on the computer was at a conference center with no tv ...... didn't work too well ....kept starting/stopping. finally gave up.

If you were given two weeks off with an unlimited supply of money that was only good for those two weeks (anything you purchased, invested, or saved would disappear when the two weeks were up), what would you do?
oh this question is so simple! I would go back to Europe -- to Germany, where I lived as a child -- and to the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, and Belgium to see all the places we visited. Only hard part: doing it all in two weeks!

What ten words would you use to describe yourself? If your friends were asked to describe you, how closely would all the lists match up?

I would describe myself as:

would be interesting to see how others would describe me! :)

What is the one simple indulgence you could never live without? Would you consider giving it up permanently for any amount of money?

after my travels, I would have to say the one 'indulgence' I cannot give up would be indoor plumbing.

these days at home have been wonderful. can't remember the last time I had this much time at home with nowhere to go!
still trying to cut out the fabric for a quilt for a very special person ...... but is taking a lot of time. oh well -- I'll get it all cut apart, then I'll get to sew it all back together! ha ha. maybe we'll get some more snow this winter!

Did you remain at the same school(s) or transfer to a number of different schools growing up? How did your early educational experiences impact your self-esteem and confidence?

I went to kindergarten in Ohio; started first grade in Kents Store, Virginia; finished first grade -- third grade in Bitburg, Germany.
Fourth & fifth grade at John B Cary in Hampton, VA; moved to Barron for 6th grade (new school, closer to house); 7th grade at Thorp, then moved to Benj Sims for 8th adn 9th (again, a new school closer to house); all three years of high school at Kecoughtan.
all four years of college (yes, in those days college was just four years) at Va Tech.

As I was very shy as a child, these moves were very hard for me. However, I think it retrospect it made me learn to deal with change and meeting new people.

The traveling we did (especially to Germany) was something I wouldn't give up for the world. I still love to travel, and have many more places I want to go!
